Hotel Information

Where are you located?

Whiteface Lodge is located at 7 Whiteface Inn Lane, Lake Placid, NY 12946, in the Adirondacks’ High Peaks region of Upstate New York. The resort is tucked into a scenic woodland setting, with the village of Lake Placid and year-round attractions nearby.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is typically at 4:00 PM and check-out is typically at 11:00 AM. Guests are encouraged to contact the resort directly before arrival to confirm timing or request special arrangements.

What if I have to check-in early or late?

Early check-in and late check-in requests are subject to availability. Guests arriving early or late should contact the Front Desk or Reservations team in advance so the resort can best assist with arrival arrangements.

I haven’t received a booking confirmation. What should I do?

Please contact the Reservations team directly for assistance. Guests may call 518-523-0505 or email [email protected] so the team can locate and confirm the reservation.

When does the Canoe Club open for the season?

The Canoe Club opens for the 2026 season on May 23, weather permitting.

When is the Canoe Club available?

From May 23 to June 20, the Canoe Club is open on weekends, weather permitting. From June 20 to September 7, it is open daily. From September 7 to October 12, it returns to weekend operations, weather permitting.

Are canoes and kayaks included for guests?

Yes. Whiteface Lodge guests may enjoy complimentary canoes and kayaks at the lakefront Canoe Club.

Families & Children

Do you allow children?

Yes. Whiteface Lodge welcomes families and offers a variety of family-friendly amenities and activities, including a game room, movie theater, bowling alley, indoor-outdoor pool, seasonal ice skating, and children’s programming.

Do you offer babysitting or childcare services?

Whiteface Lodge offers seasonal children’s programming, including Kamp Kanu for children ages 4 to 10, based on availability and seasonality. For babysitting or childcare requests, guests should contact the Front Desk or Concierge team directly to ask about current options and local recommendations.

Are there children’s activities at Whiteface Lodge?

Yes. Children’s programs may include arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, obstacle courses and other guided activities. Activity schedules may vary by season, so guests should check the current resort calendar during their stay.

Can Whiteface Lodge accommodate larger families or groups?

Yes. With suite options ranging from one-bedroom accommodations to larger suites that can sleep groups of six to 12 guests, Whiteface Lodge can accommodate families, friends, wedding guests, and group travelers.

Is Lake Placid a year round destination?

Yes. Lake Placid offers four season experiences, from hiking, boating, biking, and golf in the warmer months to skiing, skating, snowshoeing, and classic winter activities throughout the colder season.

How can I get to the hotel from the nearest airport?

Guests may contact the Concierge team for transportation guidance and local travel recommendations. The Concierge team can assist with transportation planning, local experiences, restaurant reservations, and other arrival needs.

Is Whiteface Lodge close to Lake Placid Village?

Yes. Whiteface Lodge is located near the village of Lake Placid, a destination known for its Olympic history, mountain scenery, shopping, dining, and four-season outdoor activities.

Is there public transport nearby?

Public transportation options in Lake Placid may be limited and seasonal. Guests are encouraged to contact the Concierge team before arrival for the most current transportation recommendations, including local shuttle, taxi, car service, and driving options.

Is parking available at the resort?

Yes. Whiteface Lodge offers complimentary self-parking and complimentary climate-controlled valet parking. Oversized vehicles and tow-behind trailers are not permitted.

Yes. During the holiday season, Whiteface Lodge offers festive décor, cocktails, and carefully crafted culinary experiences for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Are reservations required for holiday dining?

What type of cuisine does KANU serve?

KANU serves sophisticated Adirondack-inspired cuisine, highlighting local flavors and seasonal ingredients.

Does Whiteface Lodge offers breakfast?

Yes. Breakfast is served daily at KANU from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Please note that breakfast locations or hours may occasionally vary due to resort operations or special events, so guests are welcome to contact the Front Desk with any questions.

When is dinner served at KANU?

Dinner is served Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Does KANU offer a Sunday dining special?

Yes. KANU offers a special Prime Rib Buffet on Sundays from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM for $55 per person.

What are Peak 47’s food service hours?

Peak 47 is open for food service from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, and from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM Friday and Saturday.

Does Peak 47 offer a children’s menu?

Yes. A children’s menu is available.

Does Whiteface Lodge offer in-suite dining?

Yes. Guests can enjoy in-suite dining from the comfort and privacy of their suite.

When is in-suite dining available?

In-suite dining is available during regular restaurant hours.

Gift Cards

Can unused gift card value be redeemed for cash?

No. Unused value remains on the gift card and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Is a Whiteface Lodge gift card the same as a credit or debit card?

No. A Whiteface Lodge gift card is not a credit or debit card and has no implied warranties.

What happens if my gift card is lost, stolen, or damaged?

Whiteface Lodge is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged gift cards, or any unauthorized use.

Whiteface Lodge offers Private Offers, an exclusive online rate program created for loyal guests who book directly through the Whiteface Lodge website.

What are Private Offers?

Private Offers are special rates available online only when guests book direct on the Whiteface Lodge website. Eligible guests can save up to 20% off nightly rates.

How do I access Private Offer rates?

To access Private Offer rates, guests simply need to sign up and sign in on the Whiteface Lodge website. Once signed in, the rates displayed online will automatically reflect available Private Offer rates.

Are Private Offer rates always available?

Private Offer rates may not always be available, especially during peak travel dates and select holiday periods.

Can Private Offer discounts vary?

Yes. The discount associated with Private Offers may vary based on suite type and availability.

Deposit Policy

Is a deposit required to make a reservation?

Yes. A valid major credit card is required to guarantee all reservations. A deposit equal to one night’s room plus tax will be charged at the time of booking.

Is the deposit policy different during the holiday season?

Yes. For stays between December 24, 2026 and January 2, 2027, a deposit of 50% of the total stay before taxes will be charged at the time of booking. The remaining 50% will be charged 30 days prior to arrival.

Cancellation & Modification Policy

What is the standard cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made by 4:00 PM local time, 14 days prior to arrival, to avoid a cancellation fee equal to one night’s room and tax.

What is the cancellation policy for stays between December 24, 2026 and January 2, 2027?

For stays between December 24, 2026 and January 2, 2027, cancellations or modifications must be made at least 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations cancelled within 30 days of arrival will forfeit the deposit.

Can I modify my reservation within the cancellation period?

Reservations cannot be modified within the applicable cancellation period.

What happens if I shorten my stay before arrival?

If you shorten the length of your stay prior to arrival, a one-night penalty will apply.

What happens if I depart earlier than my confirmed dates?

If you depart earlier than your confirmed dates, you will be responsible for all of the original room nights reserved.

What is the cancellation policy for group reservations?

The standard group cancellation policy is 45 days. Group reservations cancelled within this period will forfeit their deposit. Reservations cannot be modified within the cancellation period.

What are considered peak season travel dates?

Peak season travel dates are from the second-to-last weekend in June through Labor Day.

What are considered holiday travel dates?

Holiday travel dates include New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, President’s Day Week, Easter Week, Memorial Day Weekend, July 4th Week, Labor Day Weekend, Columbus Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Week, and Christmas Week.

No-Show Policy

What happens if I do not arrive for my reservation?

No-show reservations will forfeit their deposit. The remaining balance for the original room nights reserved, less taxes, will also be charged.

Pet & Service Animal Policy

Are pets allowed at Whiteface Lodge?

No, we do not allow pets at Whiteface Lodge.

Are emotional support animals allowed?

No. Emotional support animals are not permitted on Whiteface Lodge grounds.

Are service animals allowed?

Yes. Service animals specifically trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities are welcome in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, also known as the ADA.

What qualifies as a service animal at Whiteface Lodge?

Service animals are defined as dogs, or miniature horses where applicable, that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.

Can staff ask questions about my service animal?

Yes. Staff may ask what skills or tasks the service animal has been trained to perform.

Can service animals be left alone in guest suites?

No. Service dogs must be leashed and may not be left unattended in guest suites.

Is there a penalty for violating the pet policy?

Yes. A strict $500 per night penalty will be incurred for violations. Whiteface Lodge also reserves the right to refuse entry and accommodation.
